Emerging Players (B/C) Festival

9^th March 2008

The Havant RFC Emerging Players (B/C) Festival will take place on Sunday 9^th March 2008.  This Festival has been very successfully run at Havant at U11 & U12 for several years, and this year is being extended to cover all age-groups, from Under 7 to Under 12, for the 2007-2008 Season.  As this is an emerging players festival please look at the requirements below and see if your squad can meet them.  This will be an ideal opportunity to give your less talented players a day to remember.  If you cannot field an entire team but could field half a squad then please let us know and we can mix two clubs together as a Barbarians type squad, this has worked well at previous events. The participating teams are divided into 2 leagues with the winners and runners-up in each league progressing onto the semi-finals and, if successful,  on to a final. In a change to previous years, the 2008 festival will also feature a Plate competition at all age groups.

Requirements of Players

Below are the criteria for players attending the Emerging Players (B/C) Festival, please abide by them, the festival is for ‘emerging players’ to develop in a safe rugby environment.

• Children who have started playing Rugby in the season 2007/8, or
• If they have played for more than one season then the following guidelines may apply:
  • Children who may not have attended another Festival due to their current ability, or
  • Children who you would not send to a County level or similar festival.

The success of this Festival depends on all participating team entering in the spirit of the event.

As in previous years, all Festival information will be published on the Havant Festivals website. As you can see the site (at www.festivals.havant-rfc-mj.co.uk/ ) has all the information that participating teams might need, including Festival Rules, team Registration sheets, and directions and contact information. After the festival all the results will be posted on this site and on www.havant-rfc-mj.co.uk
